Mark Richt held his weekly press conference as usual on the Tuesday before a game. Richt addressed injuries and as well as some fan unrest. Here are the highlights:
CB and return man Branden Smith is still not practicing due to a concussion, but Richts expects him to be back later in the week. Right now his status appears questionable for Saturday.
Shawn Chapas is still questionable for Saturday. We really need Chapas back, some of the problems with sacks and concerns about our running back would be addressed big time if Chapas returns.
Richt said he expects Caleb King to be ready to play Saturday and OG Chris Davis is probable.
Richt said he expected Starkville to have a “loud crowd and to be hostile” despite the disappointing start for the “other” Dawgs.
When Richt was asked about fan unrest due to the 0-2 SEC start, Richt replied ” They’re not? Neither am I, neither is my mom.”
