Friday Locks

Ucheedawg has already clinched last place; we are top heavy and it will be a sprint to see who gets first!

Corbindawg (20-14-2)

Florida (-5.5) vs. Alabama–  If Ucheedawg says easy money for the Gators, then Roll Tide.  Alabama and Florida both have shut down defenses, but I will give the edge to the more physical Alabama (in my opinion) team.  When Florida has played a good defense this year-LSU-their weaknesses were exposed.  It will be a classic SEC game, 20-17, with two Lee Tiffin FG and the Tide will Roll to the MNC!

Georgia Tech (-1) vs. Clemson-  It is hard to beat the same team twice in a season, but I like the nerds in a close one.  Clemson may pull “A Clemson” and fall to a pre-Christmas bowl!

Cincinnati (-2.5) at Pitt– Cincinnati.

Granitedawg (21-15)

Florida (-5.5) vs. Alabama- This is the worst pick I will make all year, but I’ll make it anyway. No way Alabama even comes close in this one, but I can always hope that the fighting Tim Tebow’s let off the gas in the 4th and Bama covers. Take the points as Bama scores late to come within the 5.5.

Cincinnati (-2.5) @ Pitt- I’ve been in Ohio all week and can feel the buzz up here. I almost don’t want to come home to Georgia! Ohio State is going to Pasadena and Cincy will be on their way to Miami. Lay the 2.5 as Cincy wins in convincing fashion.

Wisconsin (-12.5) @ Hawaii- This is better than Bowl Week for Wisconsin and they will enjoy every minute of it. Wisconsin is possibly the worst place in the world to be this time of year, so they will ride the enjoyment of being in sunny Hawaii to a big victory. Lay the points and take the big boys from Wisconsin.

Kensingtiondawg (19-16-1)

West Virginia at Rutgers (-1.5)-West Virginia is coming off an upset of Pitt in “The Backyard Brawl”.  Expect them to suffering from a little hangover this week.  Lay the small 1.5 chalk with Rutgers.

Georgia Tech (-1) vs. Clemson-Everyone likes Tech.  Well they’re wrong.  Tech is still not over the loss to UGA including their head coach who’s been trying to start fights with UGA fans in the media.  Plus, this is a big revenge game for the Tigers.  Take Clemson.

Texas (-14.5) vs. Nebraska-Texas has been looking forward to this game since being left out of the title game last year.  They will blowout Nebraska.  Take Texas lay the 14.5.

Ucheedawg (15-20-1)

New Mexico State @ Boise State (-47.5)- There’s not a number big enough in the season finale for the Broncos! Lay the points here, the Papa Smurfs win by 50!!!

Florida (-5.5) vs. Alabama- Only 5 and a hook? Easiest money of the year! Take the Gators as they Chomp their way to another SEC Championship and MNC!

Georgia Tech (-1) vs. Clemson- Second easiest pick of the year. The Yellow Jackets are smarter, nerdier, stingier and more disciplined than the Tigers and will deliver a death of a thousand stings. Meanwhile Clemson will tumble all the way to a December 26 bowl game as J.D. runs all over them. If you give up 34 to SC you give up 50 to GT!!! Take the Nerds in a convincing win.

Rutgers (-8.5) at Syracuse: The Scarlet Knights are ranked again!  This must 2006!  Rutgers has quietly put together a nice season after disappointing the last couple of years.  After thumping South Florida, look for Rutgers to continue the success by rolling Syracuse in the Carrier Dome.

Kentucky at Georgia (-9.5):  The Dawgs are really clicking offensively now.  Their running game looks real nice, click, and fortunately Kentucky’s defense is worse than ours.  I don’t know if will be able to get out of our own way on offense and avoid the turnovers, but the Ginja Ninja gives me hope for two reasons:  a) The Ginja Ninja strikes at night and b) he has gone TWO consecutive games with out throwing an interception.  I think, despite AJ’s absence, our power running game will open op Orson Charles in the middle of the field.  We have so many weapons on offense, against a bad team like Kentucky it should be enough.  I like the Dawgs to play inspired ball and honor UGA VII- A Dawg always will beat a Cat.

Louisiana State at Mississippi (-4.5):  They Buyou Bengals are hurting now.  Snead has been a complete disappointment this season, but Ole Miss is still a good team.  The speedy Dexter McCluster is a dangerous, big play threat who can score from any where on the field.  LSU just doesn’t have the BAM! offensive playmaker who can score like that.  Hotty Toddy; Go Rebels.

granitedawg (18-12) with apologies to his readers for the lack of commentary

Florida Int @ Florida (-45): Florida covers because  Myer’s a dick.

Kansas @ Texas (-27.5): Texas covers – Style Points.

And for the why not see what happens:
Hawaii @ San Jose State (+3):  San Jose St

(thanks granitedawg, your insight is inspiring)

kensingtondawg (16-13-1)

Ohio State (-12) at Michigan: Wolverine players have given up on Rich Rod!  The Buckeyes are Rose Bowl bound and will pound Michigan!  Take Ohio State and the 12.

California at Stanford (-7.5): Expect Stanford to come out flat after their blowout win over USC last week.  Even without Javid Best, Cal is still a very dangerous football team.  Take Cal and the points.

UAB at East Carolina (-12.5): This number is way too high.  The fighting “Neil Callaway’s” have had a very improved season and will play hard Saturday.  Take the Blazers and the 12.5

ucheedawg (14-16)

Kentucky @ UGA (-9.5): I never, ever bet on the Dawgs. However, I think we roll to a big win this week. Even sandwiched between 2 rivalry games these guys know how important this one is and will come in prepared. Kentucky is looking forward to the hardcourt and is no match for UGA. Lay the points and take the Dawgs.

Kansas @ Texas (-27.5): Texas is zoned in on the MNC game at this point, and there doesn’t really seem to be anything standing in their way. Colt McCoy is arguably the best leader in the nation and will not allow a letdown. Playing for style against an overmatched team, lay the points. Hook ‘em Horns.

Ohio State (-12.5) @ Michigan: Even though this is in the Big House, this isn’t your daddy’s Big House. Michigan is terrible in Big 10 play and Ohio State is out to prove critics wrong (even though the critics are right.) This one won’t really be close. Lay the points and take the Buckeyes.

Friday Locks

Granitedawg (18-9)

Texas (-23.5) at Baylor – As long as Texas doesn’t sleep walk through this game they name the score.  Texas has not been good on covering this season (Once more than UGA if you’re counting at home) but I think they can do it this weekend.
Miami (-3) at North Carolina – Sorry to disappoint but no great incite here.  It’s a low line and I like Miami.
BYU (-26.5) at New Mexico – This is another game where the visiting team names the score.  The only thing that can slow BYU down is if they hold out Unga and let him heal.  But really, when you think of BYU do you think of their running game?  This one will get ugly.
Also like Oregon, Clemson, TCU and Wisconsin for you parlay card pickers out there.

Corbindawg (16-10-1)

Arizona at California (-3)–  Though we didn’t publish leans, I was leaning towards Arizona on Tuesday.  The Wildcats are having their best season under Coach (Mike) Stoops.  California is the most disappointing team in College Football; I actually had them playing for the MNC preseason.  Cal will also have to go without one of the “best” RB in the country, Jahvid Best.  When Arizona was the favorite, I like them.  Now that Cal is the favorite in Berkeley, I love the Wildcats taking the points.

Texas (-23.5) at Baylor- Any explanation necessary?  Hook Em Horns.

Georgia Tech (-12.5) at Duke-  It will be appropriate that Georgia Tech clinch an ACC Title Game appearance on the road at a school that cares more about academics than football.  The Nerds from Durham will put some points on the board against the Nerds from Atlanta, but the Nerds from Atlanta will put at least 13 more up.  Nesbitt is running that offense very well right now, and Paul Johnson is one of the best coaches around.

Kensingtondawg (14-12-1)

Tennessee at Ole Miss (-5.5)-Tennessee is in turmoil with the weekly arrests, and that should be a major distraction.  Plus Ole Miss still has the ability to shine with the best of the SEC.  Lay the Chalk with Ole Miss.

Texas A&M at Oklahoma (-20)-Texas A&M blew a big lead against Colorado and should be still suffering.  On the other hand the Sooners will be looking to bounce back after being held to 3 lousy points against Nebraska.  Sooners cover!

Northwestern at Illinois (-4)-The Illini is on a roll!  Northwestern should be in letdown mode after they’re upset of Iowa last week.  Lay the 4 and take Illinois!

Ucheedawg (11-16)

Iowa at Ohio State (-16.5): Iowa was exposed finally last weekend, with NW ending their undefeated season. However, they get a little more than 2 TD as they travel to the Horseshoe this weekend with a showdown vs. Ohio State. Ohio State has still not impressed me that much, and while they will get the W here, it won’t be by more than 2 TD. Take the points and the Hawkeyes.

Troy at Arkansas (-13.5): Troy hasn’t played anybody since a blowout loss to Florida in week 2. Arkansas will put up points on this Troy team and will end their 6 game winning streak. Lay the points and take the Hogs.

Clemson (-8) at  NC State- Clemson has gotten hot and controls it’s destiny in the ACC still. NC State can be dangerous, but Clemson has a very good defense and will win convincingly here. I never bet on Clemson, but am changing my ways this week. Lay the points and take the Tigers.
