Excuses, Excuses

Some of the more critical people out there might look at the woes of the 2013 football season and simply pass it off as excuses, excuses.  I would like to think that most reasonable people will look at the rash of injuries the team has gone through, and use a little critical thought.  But, if there is anything our fan base is, reasonable is not it.

So, let’s just say that the historic injury woes that this team faced the last 3 weeks is just an excuse and a crutch for us Disney Dawgs.  I’ll play along.

What excuse does LSU have for losing to Ole Miss?

What excuse does Florida have for losing to Missouri?

What excuse does South Carolina have for losing to Tennessee?

What excuse does Texas A&M have for losing to Auburn?

What excuse does Stanford have for losing to Utah?

What excuse does Oklahoma have for losing to Texas?

Instead of quickly asking who should be fired, look at the big picutre.  The aforementioned teams (except Florida) have not had near the issues our Dawgs have had.  While some of it is Georgia’s own fault (special teams, defense), a lot of it has just been factors beyond any control.

I get it.  There is always someone that needs to be blamed.  Someone has to be at fault here, right?  No.  Sometimes, it just doesn’t work out. The best laid plans of mice and men, or something like that.

How about we all just chill out for a minute and worry about beating the Gators?

It is human nature to look for a quick reason when disappointed in something. Unfortunately, we are not counseled by Mr Spock’s rational take on these things. When your son blows his SAT, you blame his lack of preparedness, not asking did his coinciding breakup with his love of his life affect him. When the electorate votes in an incompetent you blame mass stupidity not failure of your candidate to run a good campaign. Injuries have decimated our team but they’re Georgia, they should be able to overcome anything. Richt and staff have obviously not game-planned this with a proper Plan B (?) Forgive the Dawgs, forgive the fans and let’s press on and win the remainder with the remaining DGDs that we have. Get up, Dawg Nation, go Dawgs, GATA!!
