Friday Locks

The Grit Tree had a pretty bad week last week, with Granite and Kensingtondawg only posting winning weeks.  Overall for the year, we are 75-55-6, batting 57.69%.  We’ll try and do better this week:

Kensingtondawg (3-0 last week, 17-7-3 overall)

Iowa +4

Alabama -5

Pitt +3.5

Corbindawg (1-2 last week, 19-8 overall)

Arkansas -5

Stanford -21

And since Granite is an enabler, he is bringing me down his dark path:

Florida International -3

BONUS UNOFFICAL GAME:

Pepperell Dragons (+22) at Calhoun Yellow Jackets-This is the Region 7AA Championship Game.   My Alma Mater, the Pepperell Dragons, are led by a power running game and star tailback Janier Ferguson (who rushed for 400 yards in a single game earlier in the season) and efficient quarterback Kyle Henderson, and on defense they have Linebacker Dakota Ball who has signed a commitment to play with Alabama next season.  Ferguson is a little banged up.  Calhoun beat Pepperell 39-7 in Lindale earlier in the season, and the Rome News-Tribune calls for Calhoun to finish the season undefeated and win their 11th consecutive Region Championship 35-13.  These two teams played a thriller for the Region title in 2008.  Pepperell went through the sub region undefeated, but the 7 AA South is about as bad as the SEC East.  Pepperell is well coached, however I think Calhoun wins because they have better athletes BUT not so fast my friend!  Calhoun wins, BUT  it will be  closer than the experts think.  Take the Dragons getting 22!

Ucheedawg (1-2 last week, 13-13-1 overall)

LSU +5

Boise State -42

Arkansas -5

Granite:

The MAC is the rubber band and twisted spoon to Granite’s football addiction.  He tried to get clean this week, but the wide array of Tuesday and Wednesday night games was too much for him to overcome, and he fell off the wagon.  Let’s just say in Granite’s MACtion, he went 1-2.

Barndawg

South Carolina at Arkansas -5.5
Texas Tech +14 at Texas
Northwestern at Nebraska -17.5
