These Dawgs Have Fight

Aside from that series where every player in the team got called for holding, I thought UGA played overall a good game against Tennessee.  The offense was aggressive and conservative at the appropriate times and the defense continues to play extremely well.

It was very poetic.  You all know meme for the week.  Very cool that Coach Richt was able to get his 100th in Knoxville.  Almost 10 years to the day Mark Richt showed he was going to make Georgia a winner again, he showed that the program is heading back in the right direction.

I think its awesome that the players wanted this game for Richt and recognized the importance of this game for not only the SEC East race but for their head coach personally.

There are a lot of things that Coach Richt deserves credit for-hell, he’s won 100 games in 10.5 years.  There are alot of things he deserves criticism for-hell, UGASports  went 6-7 and list to UCF a year ago.

But one thing you can NEVER say is that the players quit on him.  After an 0-2 start the team could have folded or stop buying in.  No sir.  They are doing their thing, and they are still fighting for the head coach.

You often hear a reason coaches don’t stay around long at places is the fatigue of being one place too long.  After so long, everyone has heard what you have to say and the players stop buying in.

For us fans that may be true.  But for Coach Richt and this group of Bulldogs, they are still buying in and they still have fight in them.

I think what you said about the players never quiting on him is one of the reasons that although I have been very upset with the results the past two seasons that I never thought it was time to replace him. Have their been games under him that the team came out flat, absolutely. There has never been a time when I felt like the team just quit on him. To keep that alive for 10.5 years is something to hang your hat on as a coach. The chemistry on this year’s team seems right for the first time in a long time. I look forward to playing a clean, business like trip this coming weekend and then hopefully letting all the potential on the team explode against UF!
