Friday Locks

So, another season for our three Friday locks.  Will Kensington continue to win?  Will someone else other than Ucheedawg finish in last place?  We’ll see.  Here are our Friday Locks!

Louisiana-Monroe vs. FSU (-29)  The Noles have reloaded.  FSU covers.

Louisana-Lafayette at Oklahoma State (-38)  The Cowboys were incredible ATS streak last year.  I try to stay away from spread more than 35, but this thing is going to get ugly quick. Ok State Covers.

Boise State vs. Georgia (+3)  Partly because I’m ready for tomorrow night. Partly because I’m getting sick and tired of reading things about the game. Partly because I think Georgia is going to win.  I’m taking Georgia and the power ranger suits.

Fresno State @ Cal (-10) The Fresno State Bulldogs open the year against a Cal team who desperately needs to get off to a fast start. However, there’s a familiar name at the helm of this Bulldogs team, a man named Carr. David Carr’s younger brother Derek is the starting QB and can and will do great things at Fresno State. I’m calling for Fresno State to upset Cal at Candlestick Park, but just to be safe I’ll take the 10 points.

Western Michigan @ Michigan (-14) Western Michigan will play Michigan close here. Michigan has a new HC, who by the way does not like running QB’s. That doesn’t set up well early on with D. Robinson running the offense. I think Michigan will pull it out, but watch for Western Michigan to make it closer. Take the points and Western Michigan in one of the better games of the weekend.

BYU @ Ole Miss (+3) I think BYU will have a good season. They have arguably the best OL in college football this year and will be disciplined as always. However, they’re coming South and will face a pretty decent Ole Miss team in The Grove. Ole Miss has a really good running back in Brandon Bolden and will run the ball early and often in an upset of the Cougars. I’ll call for the outright win by Ole Miss at home.

Tulsa at Oklahoma (-25)– Oklahoma always runs the score up if they get a chance.  OU is very deserving of their #1 ranking, and will want to make sure they keep it. Oklahoma shut out Tulsa in 2009 45-0 and have won 5 straight by  a combined score of 233-36.   OU returns its QB and 4/5 on the O-line.   It is all about style points this early in the season and OU is going to roll over Tulsa.

Louisiana Tech at Southern Miss (-12.5) – Phil Steele likes Southern Miss this season, and USM has 14 returning starters this season.  Take the Golden Eagles against La Tech in Hattiesburg.

LSU (+4) vs Oregon-These are the type of games LSU wins.  Les Miles has his teams ready.  Look at their defense.  John Chavis will have the boys ready to play.  Auburn’s defense slowed down Oregon last year, and Auburn was a mediocre SEC defense.  I think the Bayou Bengals play hard and Les Miles will have some tricks up his sleeve.  This isn’t the same Pick 6  Jarrett Lee we saw in 2008.  The speed matches up well against the Ducks, and LSU will be just too powerful. Take LSU in an outright win.

Hawaii (-7)

Houston (-3)

TCU (-3.5)
