This Day in History

I meant to post this earlier today, but today (January 19th) is the 150th anniversary of the State of Georgia’s secession from the Union. Also, 204 years ago today, Robert E. Lee.

I think this video sums up today in history pretty well. Hard to top a “From Dixie with Love” performance in the middle of Beale Street. Enjoy!

    Also, 79 years ago today my father was born in southwest Georgia and given the middle name “Lee” for obvious reasons. He certainly will not be forgotten.

    You meant to say that today is the 150th anniversary of Georgia’s *secession* from the Union. Either way, I’m not sure why that deserves celebration.
