UGA News

Athletic Director Greg McGarity understands the frustration of the Dawgnation and he wants improvement.

Speaking of McGarity, Kyle King thinks the UGA AD snookered Boise to getting into the Chick-fil-A business.

Huge SEC opener tomorrow for the Dawgs tomorrow as “The Big Blue Barometer Cometh”.    As we stand right now it appears Georgia needs some work to get into the NCAA tournament discussion. columnist Jeff Schultz is very impressed with head coach Mark Fox and believes he’s changing the culture of UGA basketball.

BCS National Championship

The first shot was fired in the leadup to Monday’s national title game as Oregon QB Darren Thomas says that Nick Farley deserves the “dirty rap” he receives.  We agree and here’s just a little reminder as to why.

Also don’t feel sorry for Cam Newton will all the hoopla around he and his father Cecil.  Cam hasn’t learned anything from all of this.  It appears he may be taking free tickets to NBA games from Charles Barkley.

Auburn offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn doesn’t like his offense being called the spread.

The SEC bloggers on have the 5 reasons they believe Auburn will be holding the Sears Trophy Monday night.

Oregon, however, thinks they will win by wearing Auburn out.

AT&T Cotton Bowl

Looking forward to some quality college football which is a rarity on a Friday night.  Two premier programs with better than expected seasons in LSU and Texas A&M will face off.’s Chris Low has your preview  and the keys to a LSU win.

One of the big storylines of the game is whether Les Miles, if offered, would jump ship to Ann Arbor and take the Michigan job.   Our friends over at Saturdays down South give their take.

NFL Draft

A lot of underclassmen announced their NFL Draft intentions yesterday.  However, the big surprise was consensus #1 overall pick Andrew Luck deciding to return for his junior season.  Ucheedawgs says this could make AJ Green the #1 pick as the Panthers desperately need some help at WR.

The big winner in the Luck announcement was Arkansas QB Ryan Mallet who significantly improved his draft stock.  Shortly after Luck’s announcement, Mallet said he would enter the NFL draft.

Atlanta Braves

The Braves made it official yesterday as they announced the signing of Dan Uggla.

If you’re going to Stegman on Saturday be loud!  Knocking off Kentucky would be a huge start to the SEC season for Georgia.

Have a great weekend and Go Dawgs!
