Georgia Bob’s BBQ in Macon/Byron is going to be featured on the TV program Pitmasters.
For someone who eats BBQ regularly at various Middle GA BBQ joints, I can say that this is not right. In fact, I will go one step further. It is an abomination.
Georgia Bob’s is not a good BBQ resturant. Simply put, any BBQ resturant that openly promotes its chicken salad on their marquee board outside must be embarrassed of thier ‘cue. Fresh Air, Satterfields, Old Clinton, and Grillmaster (in Perry) all have much better BBQ than Georgia Bob’s. If you go at the top of this page and look at the BBQ map, you’ll find dozens of joints across the state we have reviewed that we have reviewed. I can’t think of one that received a more negative one than Georgia Bob’s.
I guess these so-called “national experts” just don’t know good genuine Georgia cue when they see it.

Dear God.
Show up when they’re there and tell ‘em to hop on down Gray Highway to Old Clinton BBQ. They should at least see what good BBQ should tastes like before putting somebody else on TV.
I’m from Macon and Fresh Air is where it’s at.
Also I highly recommend White Diamond Barbecue on 247 in Bonaire. Our family has been going there for years. Good GA Q
Not even in the top 5 for the greater Macon/WR area. Just awful!!!
I’m from Warner Robins and I agree with White Diamond. When ever I get back there I try to make a visit to White Diamond. There is nothing like it.
I agree with Corbindawg. There is much better cue to be had in Middle GA than Georgia Bob’s.
